October- is it a trick or treat? The weather can vary 20 degrees in a day. There are weeks when you feel like you’re floating between seasons. With a high of 79 and a low of 55 the dilemma is how to dress for this fluctuation. Here are 3 practical tips to help you manage this in-between time:
Tanks and T’s are for layering. While you have may have put away some of your summer clothes, leave out your t-shirts and tanks. They make a great base layer to take away the chill or allow you to remain comfortable as the temps spike. Next, add your blouse or lightweight cotton sweater. Finally, think about your connector piece- a jacket, quilted vest, or moto in the fall colors that you like. Now you are ready for whatever mother nature throws your way!
Jeans what’s not to love! They are the ultimate piece in your wardrobe for every season. Heading into fall, I favor a darker denim. Have them “lean into” the fall by rolling the bottoms. A lower roll that rests near the ankle worn with a closed toe shoe will walk between the seasons with style.
Booties are fun to bring out in early fall. Look for a variety of styles and patterns, including heels and flats. Wear them with skirts, dresses, jeans or pants. Use socks or tights to add color and pattern and to control the amount of warmth.
